The world’s creative industries are expanding rapidly more than ever before. The growth of the economy based on creative industry alone are rapid and expeditious. Creative industry in Malaysia on the other hand often refers to the film industry dominantly. This however is not entirely definite while other creative and arts field are also contributing to the industry. Field such as animation, music, performing arts, fine arts, crafting, and textiles have also played their role in coloring our nation socially and economically.
The government policy such as DIKN 2010, and the latest, DAKEN 2021 have been supporting the industry and hopefully to remain relevant. This is a community handbook, made by the community, for the community. The content of this book is far from complete, yet it would rather provide the basics and introduce us on what is creativity and culture in Malaysian, which in some way influenced the world we live today.
